Checking Out

Area Cleaning is in full swing! Spirits are high and all hands and legs are moving furiously as the students anticipate their journey home. Final pictures have been uploaded onto the flickr account. Apologies for the delay.
For your information, all pictures will be consolidated and presented to each student as a souvenir after the camp so parents, no worries about asking for the pictures.
However, we do seek your understanding as the process of burning the pictures into CDs may take a few weeks. Thank you and signing off...

Day 3

Rise & shine!
Sembawang Campsite was a land of the living dead... Joking... but it was similar with all the boys (and teachers) dragging their feet around, lugging their bags aseveryone awaits for Breakfast and Area Cleaning.
Hopefully, most of the boys will still be in the "spring cleaning" mood...

Night 2

It was a resounding success! Thank you to all parents who turned up and patiently awaited the beginning of the campfire, which was delayed due to the earlier rain. For those of you who believed in the school, a huge thank you is in order as well for placing your trust in us.
Your sons are now being tucked in and so many of them are well and truly exhausted! Looks like a peaceful night ahead *fingers crossed*
Photos will be uploaded as soon as my debriefs are conducted...

Campfire

The time now is 5.15pm and I am very thankful that you parents have been very very positive about the camp. Thank you for listening to our appeals not to appear in front of the boys before the campfire, although a few of you were spotted peeping (yes, you were seen...). However, by and large, the boys had a great camp and I'm sure gained much about resiliance as well as teamwork during the past 2 days.

BUT, the camp is not over yet. Thus, I strongly appeal to all who are intending to bring food for your precious son to change your minds. I'm not being any mean monster nor some evil authoritarian here - rather, do spare a thought for those boys whose parents will not be present. Besides, one of the main pillars of the camp is to go through everything as one.

Next, please do not attempt to smuggle the bag of dirty laundry home. You can't exactly dry the clothes tonight as well right? Let your son bring the load back. He will gain an invaluable lesson in starting and finishing any project responsibly.

Finally, do note that parking in the campsite is not permitted. For those who are driving, you may park your vehicles at the public carpark (FOC!) just a stone's throw away. Also note that our gates will be opened from 6.45pm onwards and not any earlier.

For those who are taking the school-provided 2-way transport, alighting will be at the main gate and will commence from 6pm to 6.10pm. The buses will depart for the school immediately after the campfire.

Thank you in advance for your kind understanding and fullest cooperation.

Cats & Dogs!

Nope I'm not referring to the strays in the estate but the similarly unwanted visitors from the sky. Sigh.
The bad news was the downpour. The good news was that it poured during lunch so no one was caught in the rain. Noenetheless, one could hear the collective groan when the skies opened up. They were so much looking forward to their afternoon programme! Immediately, I had a surge of students rushing to me and asking what's going to happen to their afternon programme. Will it be cancelled? How can?? Not fair!?
Currently, we are monitoring the weather forecast and lightning risk very carefully and further updates will be in as soon we have decided on the programme proper.
Meanwhile, more pictures have been uploaded!

Day 2

Rise and shine! This year's camp broke the record for the earliest riser as first rustling could be heard from as early as 5.15am! The night sentry and myself had to quickly stand firm and insist that all early risers had to return for their much needed rest. Thankfully, all were obedient and peace was restored after 15 minutes.
The zen lasted for another hour before the rest of the camp was roused to get ready for one full day of exciting adventure! Here's the schedule for the morning:
5C - Kayaking (KY) + CRC (TB was replaced as not all the students who wanted to attempt attempted due to the sheer numbers of this group) + FA
5H - LE + KY + TB
5R - Sembawang Challenge
5I - Sembawang Challenge
5S - TB + LE + KY
Weather looks fantastic and let's pray hard this lasts for the rest of the day.
